FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions About UV Coating Lines

Q1: How does a roller coating machine work?

Paint is poured between the feed roller and the coating roller. As the rollers rotate, the paint coats the roller surfaces. The workpiece then passes through the conveyor system. The coating roller presses the paint onto the surface of the panel, transferring the paint to the panel's surface to complete the coating process.

Q2:How many types of rollers are there on a roller coating machine?

The rollers of a coating machine can be classified into electro-optical rollers, coating rollers, drive rollers, and pressure rollers.

Coating rollers: rubber rollers, silicone rollers, sponge rollers, laser rollers, PU rollers, and soft rollers (softer silicone).

Drive rollers: driving rollers and driven rollers.

Pressure rollers: pressure steel rollers (located directly below the coating roller).

Q3:What is the minimum thickness achievable with the roller coating machine?

The minimum thickness is 5mm. Thinner coatings are possible, but the roller may press against the belt, causing paint contamination that compromises overall aesthetics and product quality.

Q4:What is the maximum width of the roll coating production line?

Minimum width: 630mm, maximum width: 2550mm. Custom sizes are also available.

Q5:Can roller coating machines be used on metal substrates?

Such as aluminum ceilings and metal drums.

Q6:Where can roller coating be applied?

Wood flooring, cabinets, wardrobes, wooden doors, glass, leather, picture frames, coat hangers, grilles, game console casings.

Q6:What is the maximum height for roller coating on workpieces with uneven surfaces?

Under normal circumstances, we do not use roller coating for uneven surfaces. It damages the rollers; complex uneven surfaces cannot be adequately covered. For workpieces with uneven surfaces, we typically opt for spray coating.
